New to Our CHurch?

Welcome to London First Church of the Nazarene!

We know that visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating.  But having an idea of what to expect can help.

Arriving – When you arrive here on Sunday, if you are driving, feel free to park in any undesignated spot. Our church is fully accessible and there are some  wheelchair reserved parking spots near the side entrance, and a ramp, if you need it.

What to Expect at a Sunday Morning Service – As you come through the door, there will be someone to welcome you with a handshake and show you where to go.  We worship God in 3 ways: preaching, worship songs, and giving of tithes and offerings. As a visitor, you are not obliged to give an offering.

Connecting and Follow Up – You will be asked to fill out a newcomer card so we can welcome you officially with a follow up letter or email.  Please give your card to an usher or greeter. We have a special gift to say “Thank You” for visiting with us.  If you have questions about ministries, or need any kind of direction, please speak with an usher or greeter  – just look for someone wearing a bright yellow identification tag.

Worship – We gather to sing, pray and glorify our Lord. We do this with songs that are both contemporary and traditional. The lights are often dimmed so as to assist in overhead projection, but also to help the congregation to not be distracted by those around them; and to help you focus on God. The music is loud so that you can sing without being self-conscious of those around you. Feel free to join in!

Preaching – The sermons are always Biblically based and aim to encourage and challenge you. The Scriptures are usually projected onto the screen, so do not worry if you do not have a Bible. The sermons usually last about 30-40 minutes. To listen to past sermons, check out our You Tube channel.

Children 0–12 years – An unstaffed nursery is available for the use of nursing mothers (just outside the double doors to the left of the sanctuary). For children aged 3-12 years there is “Children’s Church”.  The children are dismissed soon after the beginning of the service; and head off to their age-appropriate classes downstairs in the lower level. Please accompany your child to his/her class so that you can provide the teacher with important information pertaining to your child.  If your child is 3-9 years old you must also personally come to the class to pick him/her up as we will not release children to anyone else.

Our teachers love children! And you can be assured that all of our child care volunteers have undergone screening by Plan to Protect®.

We hope that you enjoy worshipping with us and come back soon!
